Mondays are still over rated as far as I can tell. I know it is the beginning of the work week, and it does signifies a return to normalcy after a hectic weekend. However, when you are no longer ruled by Mondays (in other words retired) you experience a sense of freedom like no other freedom you have ever had. Then you shake your head and realize that no matter how hard you do not want to be ruled by Monday you still are. Damn!
Monday is the day that tells you how many other days in the week are left in order for you to get all of your stuff done. It is the day that you use to plan the rest of your week and weekend. Doctor appointments, grocery shopping, dog grooming, all are planned out on Monday. I guess, Monday gives us a sense of direction. There is no getting away from it. We need Monday. Monday is the compass pointing us toward the weekend!
If you are anything like I am you know what I am talking about. I am a planner. I like to decide what is going to happen when. I record my events and schedule them in my phone calendar. That way I know what is coming up in the near future and what needs to be taken care of. In this way I am able to manage our household.
So, today is Monday. I walked our two Pomeranians, Sugar and Spice around the block. I continued working on the landscaping in our front yard, hauling landscape rocks from one garden area to another. I planted 4 new gardenia bushes to replace the overgrown bushes we had removed last week. I cut up vegetables to freeze for meals down the road. I tweaked my blog and answered 35 messages. I wrote this blog post. My husband and I planned out what we need to do the rest of the week. I am calendared and scheduled – good to go! I pretty well have this Monday under my belt. How about you?
Get out there and be the best you can be! Enjoy the day. Save the world. Let this Monday be the best ever!
