My Pixel Prose entry this week is still stuck at the beach. It is so lovely here in Pensacola, Florida in the autumn that I just can’t let go of the sea and sand.
Come join Amanda of Unique Art Chic weekly for her Pixel Prose Challenge where we combine poetry, Haiku, Tanka, etc. with our photography. Its like traveling with entertainment! I used Fotoflexer which is an easy program to use. You upload your own photo and add your poetry to it with a text box. Picmonkey is another program that is free to use.
Amanda says this challenge is:
“A unique weekly challenge designed to inspire creativity from both photographers and writers. Everyone is welcome.
The concept is very simple: Use the photograph that most inspires you – then add your prose. For the purpose of this challenge, the prose can consist of any form of text. Word art, quotes, poetry, haiku, rhyme, short fiction etc.
Choose your own theme – this will free you up to use your creativity to its fullest – with the photograph you feel most inspired by. Create with your photography, edit your photographs as much or as little as you want – you decide!
Providing you have added words with your image, there is no reason why you can’t enter the challenge from other forms of social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Flickr etc. Note: You will need the URL of the actual image and not your account.
I will write a new post on Sundays approx 12 pm GMT, which will announce the weekly challenge as open. Entries can be linked to my post anytime until the following Sunday.”
Join in the fun!
Thanks for visiting. I look forward to seeing you all!

There is something very Zen about the sea washing the slate clean. An ever-changing constant! 🙂
Thank you so much. I like the idea of fresh starts in our lives. Makes everything seem shiny and new all over again. 🙂
Great Haiku. I love the words transposed on the tide. “Sparkling” takes a clean slate to a new level.
Thank you. I wanted it to convey a brand new start.
Nicely done Colleen.
