Amanda, from Unique Art Chic sponsors a weekly challenge that evokes so many feelings from me each time I see her work. Her awe-inspiring photography along with her prose never fails to amaze me! You must see what she did this week by clicking here.
My contribution this week suggests that even here the polar vortex is spreading fingers of cold downward toward us in the Florida Panhandle. This week found my Parlor Maple still blooming, while frost painted the roofs sparkly white.
Many thanks to Amanda for sponsoring this fabulous weekly challenge.
Thanks for visiting me on this Sunday. I always enjoy seeing each and every one of you!

Beautiful photo and words!
Thank you! I am so glad that you enjoyed it. <3
Colleen, I am humbled and honoured by your lovely comments. Thank you so much for entering each week, I always look forward to seeing your posts.
Your haiku is magical, nature is definitely the most skilled artist – but you have captured it! 🙂 <3
Thank you Amanda. I enjoy this challenge each week and strive to become a better photographer and writer. Thanks for having such a great event. <3
Though I love challenging myself, it wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t have you join me hun 🙂 <3
Oh Amanda, that is just the nicest thing you could have ever said. I feel the same way! <3
Bless you <3
I’ve never seen it before. Gorgeous. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! I have been experimenting with tropical plants 🙂
I like this plant and makes a delightful whimsical picture.
Thank you Betty. They are so lovely. I will have to cover the roots if it gets cold this winter. I let it grow quite tall. It is time to prune soon. 🙂
It reminds of a mellow that I seldom see as it grows in the mountainous area. There is another that is orange an the last flower the scrub and desert areas see in the fall.
That sounds lovely. This one is quite tropical. When we lived in Montana it was still to dry to plant some of these tropical flowers. It is fun planting new varieties.
I love this Colleen. That flower reminds me of a bush my parents had in their garden when I was growing up. Always enjoyed reading near these flowers.
Thank you Colline. I was so enthralled with the colors. This is a fast growing tree with maple-like leaves and these glorious blossoms. Nature’s details in the red veining on the orange blossom just inspire me! 🙂
Do you know what the flower is called? I cannot remember.
I bought this at our county extension office. It is called a Parlor Maple. In cold climates it will grow indoors with sufficient light. It is more of a shrub. Here is a site: http://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/flowering-maple/growing-flowering-maple.htm <3
That’s beautiful, Colleen! 🙂 I hope that the polar vortex doesn’t wreak havoc on the citrus crop this year.
Me too! Oranges have been expensive here lately! I see that by Friday we will be cold as all blazes again. Tuesday it will be 75 degrees F. and we are off to spend a few hours on the beach. We have a deserted stretch we visit. Should be spectacular.
