Mindful Monday-Are You in a Mindful Frame of Mind?

Welcome to Mindful Monday!  I have found that being mindful encompasses the act of being watchful, aware, wary, heedful, alert, careful, or attentive, in whatever area in my life I feel it applies to.  Each week I try to self discover new things about myself.  This week, I am going to share 7 Things Mindful People Do Differently:

Mindful Monday is all about getting in touch with your own goals about mindfulness.  This past week, I worked hard on getting all the tasks completed that I thought were important for the week.  I met most of my goals, however life got in the way for some.  There is nothing you can do about life and the way things shake out sometimes.  You know what?  I let people know that I would not be able to make the deadlines this week for a few things and then… I moved on!  I did not beat myself up, instead I accepted my imperfections and accepted that sometimes life just happens.  I lived in the moment and then let it go.

In fact, when I looked back at everything I did accomplish last week, I realized that what I thought were imperfections were simply snags in my path in life.  I had completed a fantastic amount of work around the house, (the painting should be done tomorrow Smile) and I had written some fabulous posts for my blog.  I actually appreciated what I had accomplished!  This was a fantastic feeling.  Show yourself gratitude for the person you are becoming.

Be Positive

I have continued to practice mindful eating and the results are starting to pay off.  I drank 5 glasses of water a day, which is fantastic for me.  This has helped me recognize that I was more thirsty than I was hungry!  I am paying attention to my body.  Sounds simple right?  That is the whole idea with mindfulness.  The more you pay attention to, the more you understand about yourself.

  1. Moving on and not dwelling on events or deadlines that life brings us all is the best piece of advise I would also give anyone, Colleen.

    I think life would be very boring if it did not get in the way every once in a while as, when it does, it gives us something to think about and then it’s up to us to either learn and get over that hurdle, or stay there and think of all the things that are not going to plan which, in itself, then creates negativity.

    I certainly need to start drinking lots more water, as it’s one of the best ways to help our body cleanse itself.

  2. Great advice. It is easy to be graceful when things go right, but in most cases it’s what we do with what happens that makes the biggest difference. It sounds as if you had a very productive week, even if your productivity was slightly different than expected. Have a great week
