Ephemeral Fairy Swamp

2015-03-25 08.25.05

Fairy Swamp is changing quickly here in Pensacola, Florida, as emerald leaves frame this image in time.  The bright green leaves of spring will soon give way to the cool darkness of the summer swamp.  The leaves and vines will soon be thick, making it near impossible to see into the murky waters, that today reflect the blue sky above.

I could hear frogs with their deep rumbling croaks welcoming me to view their world.  Mockingbirds, cardinals, and blue birds flitted about in the almost naked limbs of the trees.  The fragrance of wild flowers danced on the breeze, while swamp fairies disguised as butterflies drank dew from the vines in the trees.  Click here to see the latest adventures in Fairy Swamp.

Thanks for popping in to see my ephemeral Fairy Swamp for this week’s photo challenge with The Daily Post!  I look forward to seeing you all again!

  3. Lovely picture. I’ve seen your comment above. I have done yoga classes (dynamic yoga can be quite challenging) and have tried some apps. Many of the usual You Tube gym subscriptions also offer some yoga and there are apps. I’m currently enjoying a series Gim Ra has where the instructor breaks the moves in segments so you know how to do it well. If you want, check Gim Ra Plus, as the standard Gim Ra divides the workouts sometimes rather than sharing the full one.

  4. It is beautiful, but I can’t wait to see pics when it is in full greenery. Our grass is greening up here, but we had snow flurries and COLD today. More of the same tomorrow. That’s spring in Ohio.

              1. Yes, it definitely has regarding centering, mobility and health in general. That’s why I would love to start…. once… Let me know how you are doing with it.

      1. I think fairies have their own built-in heaters. I’m actually working on a book about fairies who invaded my house and turned it into a retirement home for old fairies whose wings have been confiscated…
