#BeWoW on Earth Day

It just does not get any better than this! Be wonderful on Wednesday, and Earth Day all at one time! I love it!

Ron and I spent our Earth Day morning mowing the lawn. It was one of those rare 80 degree F. days in Florida with relatively low humidity. After the lawn work was done, I transplanted some plants, and had a good old-fashioned chat with my neighbor next door, Su. We both love gardening and cooking, so we had lots to talk about and share.

I cannot think of a better way to celebrate Earth Day than communing with nature. Stop by the official website to see what it’s all about at Earth Day.org. You can read
how the first Earth Day actually came about.

Not to be outdone, the swamp fairies celebrate Earth Day also, with a bit of prose and a tour of Fairy Swamp. Leave it to the fairies to spread some magic in the world today.

The Song of the Swamp Fairies

Darkness descends dragging a veil of foggy gloom,

Fairy Swamp comes alive with a chorus of frogs and insects

singing the stories of the day.

Lightening flickers in shadowy clouds flitting across the inky black sky.

Tiny glowing translucent wings rise above the slough,

as heartbeats sync and beat as one –

The Swamp Fairies

glitter in the remnants

of the setting

Enjoy your day and spread a little of your own magic everywhere you go.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Earth Day!

  1. Lovely poem for the Earth Fairies. So glad I opened my reader tonight. I’ve been living green for several years, and I’m making my own market bags now. The canvas bags I’ve used for so long are worn out and so thin they can’t be patched any more. Recycling the pieces that are usable and crocheting new parts is fun for me and works for them, so whatever works, right?

    1. I love recycling and I began a compost box last summer. I love your crochet bag idea. Do you have a particular pattern you use? Love to see it. I am glad you enjoyed my visit to Fairy Swamp. 💖

      1. I wish we had a compost box here, but the best we do is save cans, plastic, and paper and take it to the recycle bins. I used a Granny Square based pattern for my last bag, and corner 2 corner for the ones before that one. I’ve posted some of them on my blogs, but can’t remember which blog or what date. I always enjoy the visits to the Swamp. Fairies are so closely related to angels, you know.

        1. Of course. If you click the Swamp Fairy on my blog menu and go to the bottom and work your way up, you will read my adventures with the swamp fairy. I will look for your pattern. Thanks and have a great day. 💖

    1. Thank you Viva. There is so much more to Earth Day. I recycle, I compost, I try to watch my carbon footprint. All part of being a good steward of our land. I am glad you enjoyed that bit of fairy fun. I am writing my book and I tend to live in that world off and on, so I can write it. LOL! I hope nobody gets tired of it. It is the magical forces you know. 🙂 ❤
