A Winter Interlude

Jennifer Nichole Wells One Word Photo challenge word for this week is “snow!”

Here is a photo of our backyard in Prescott Valley, Arizona. We are about 5,000 ft. elevation here. This was a quick storm that blew in that April of 2011.  The featured photo is from our house in Montana. That was just a little snow storm we had.

The temperatures are still blazing hot here in Florida. Colorado is sounding better and better! The house is up for sale and the sign is out!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I cooled you off a bit. Winter is not all that far away now…

    1. Ha, Ha! I know. It feels good to be moving back out West though. We will have snow too! I really like this theme. It showcases my writing and photos and you can see the menu items at the upper tab. Nice and clean! Thanks, Rob!

  1. You changed your blog theme didn’t you? The brown looks nice. And I agree, it’s much too hot here in FL, but your images help a bit 😉 The light snow on the fence in the backyard – just beautiful. Very well captured. Thanks for sharing.

          1. No more Pensacola??? Colorado springs will be lovely though. I think we’ll be here in Jacksonville for quite some time. My boyfriend, Eric, will be starting Police Academy here soon. But we are going to Ohio in a week to visit family, so hopefully that will be a nice change.

          2. Yes, we are moving. The weather has really changed over the years. Either that or we got older and the heat bothers us more! LOL! I think it is a little of both. That is good if you are going to go up north. A good break. Just what you need. We have not been able to sit outside or BBQ in over a month. When the heat index is 112 degrees F. that is too much for us. Add the 90% humidity to that and I am done. LOL!

          3. I’ve been thinking the weather has changed as well. I’m never one for the summer months, but I remember them being alright. This summer has been unbearable. I feel like I can’t go out and do things – like I’ve been wanting to go on nature trails etc. Good luck with your move and selling your house. I’m looking forward to seeing pictures from your new location.

  2. Can’t help laughing – today is the first day we’ve had proper summer sunshine (temp as much as 30 degrees) in my wee corner of Scotland and I put my shorts on and you send out snow pictures!

      1. That temperature was a typo – it should have said 20 degrees. 30? I wish. Am in the proces of booking a week in Turkey next month for guaranteed sunshine. Today was lovely but the forecast is for rain tonight and the forecasters can’t even decide what tomorrow might be.

  3. I’m enjoying not having snow right now. 🙂

I love the new theme look. How do you like the single column? I’ve been toying with the idea but I’m just not sure. It is definitely a cleaner look! 🙂

    1. I really like it Kat. It does allow for a page to be displayed as the initial contact. I am thinking about putting up a page about my book reviewing with the featured review of the week on it. Not sure yet. I love the sepia coloring.

  4. So the move is on the cards then Colleen?

Great photos. As you know I do love the snow (and so does Toby). The UK has had one of its coolest summers on record. Hopefully that means a cold winter with lots of snow. Nights are already drawing in and the BBC has even announced its Autumn scheduling.

    Summer? What summer?

  5. Love the new blog look, Colleen. And I’m so with you on the weather…I gave up on the idea of retirement to Florida about the same time that menopause reared its ugly head. Too hot for this mama.☺

      1. Well, weather bucked up – washing all dry. Shouldn’t be here, should be ironing but after days partially offline, trying to catch up. Wonder if a glass of wine would help?!!!

        1. School starts tomorrow here in Pensacola. All the real estate agents have had a massive slow down. It should pick back up this week when the Mom’s of the family have the kids back in school. 😀 I am always optimistic! ❤

          1. You have that going for you, Colleen. I also have a feeling that you and Ron keep the place so nice that it’ll go quickly. I have my fingers crossed! ❤

          2. The real estate agent actually had us raise the price a bit. That surprised me. There is another home in our neighborhood for sale with more square footage but not as nice as ours. It will happen. I have to be patient. You know how it is Mark… when you make up your mind finally you just want to get on with it! 😀
