RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #90 Friend & Shiver

This week’s haiku challenge prompt words from Ronovan are “friend and shiver.” Friend = ally and Shiver = quake. Since I missed last week’s challenge, I thought I had better get this up early. I am in the full flush of spring fever!

I love spring! Today, on my walk with Sugar and Spice, I saw my first forsythia bushes starting to bloom. These are some of my favorite spring blooming bushes. The warm sunny yellow blooms shine through the draping of snow that wraps around the base of the bushes like a collar of lace.

Forsythia buds –

quaking through the Ides of March,

April rains friend blooms.

Happy Spring, my friends!

  1. A lovely Haiku. I love forsythia. This is the first house we’ve lived in where I didn’t have a couple of forsythia. I need to do something about that. They are the true harbingers of spring.
