Distance… Over Yonder!

Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 26 – Distance is all about choosing a photo that shows an object that is in the distance. Maybe it’s a building or a wonderful view that contains an interesting object or scene that, although it is in the distance, shows up really well in the photo? Maybe you can spot where you are headed to from a plane or train and you’ve managed to capture it?

Want to join the fun? Here’s what you need to do.

1. Take or choose a photo that you’ve taken which defines Distance.
2. Create a new post on your blog entitled “Hugh’s Weekly Photo Challenge: Week 26 – ‘Distance’
3. Add the photo(s) you have taken to the post and tell us a little about what you are showing.
4. Create a pingback to this post or leave a link to your post in the comments section so other participants can view the post.

Not sure how to create a pingback? Click here for a step by step guide on how to create one.

This is a photo of Pike’s Peak which is visible a couple streets over from our house here in Colorado. I took this photo in the dead of winter and as you can see, our housing area is new and still under development.

This is a photo I took in 1996 of a cattle branding at the Dearborn Ranch where I worked in Montana. It was a hot dusty job and made me happy that I worked most of my days in the office in Great Falls taking care of the administrative side of things.

Thanks for popping in to see my take on “distance!”

About Colleen M. Chesebro

Colleen M. Chesebro is an American Novelist & Poet who loves writing paranormal fantasy and magical realism, cross-genre fiction, syllabic poetry, and creative nonfiction. She loves all things magical which may mean that she could be experiencing her second childhood—or not. That part of her life hasn’t been fully decided yet. A few years ago, a mystical experience led her to renew her passion for writing and storytelling. These days she resides in the fantasy realm of the Faery Writer where she writes the magical poetry and stories that the fairy nymphs whisper to her in her dreams. Colleen won the “Little and Laugh” Flash Fiction Contest sponsored by the Carrot Ranch Literary Community on November 2017, and in 2018, she won first place for the “Twisted Travel” category. Colleen lives in Arizona with her husband. When she is not writing, Colleen enjoys spending time with her husband. She also loves gardening, reading, and crocheting old-fashioned doilies into works of art. Learn more about Colleen on colleenchesebro.com.

  2. Beautiful photo, Colleen!

  3. Whoa! That’s a hike if ever I’ve seen one! 🙂

  4. A lovely view indeed, Colleen. Snow-capped mountains are one of my favourite views.
Glad you worked in the office. I can’t imagine what working in that heat must have been like.

  5. That sounds like an interesting job indeed, Colleen

    • It was! I was the bookkeeper and admin assistant for the ranch and farm. The owner had an oil company and I did the books for that company too. Best jobs I had ever had! 😊
