Brisk Autumn Mornings – A Tanka

Brisk autumn mornings –

fog and dew lay summer bare,

while blue sky kisses

paint lacy frost on spent blooms

commencing my day anew.

  1. Hi Colleen,
Reading this is magical and inspirational for me to work on my tanka writing 🙂
I also like to ask you a little thing about grammar. I was reading about subject verb agreement and compound nouns in a sentence. There’s this sentence
Their feelings and opinions is/are expressed through it.
Am I right in using are here? I assume feelings and opinions are independent nouns.
    Similarly there’s this sentence

Film, radio, television, the internet , books, magaxines and newspapers provides/provide us information as well as entertainment.
I think we need to use provide here?

    1. I am NOT a grammar expert but I think you should look at the plurals. Have you tried the Grammarly app? You can also set your Word to check some of these grammar issues. I try to listen to how it sounds. That will help you also. Oh, I love the ProWritingAid app. Good luck. ❤️

    1. English is so confusing. I am not an expert as anyone will attest to. LOL! Look at the plurals. Their goes with are. That and how it sounds spoken out loud. Try the free Grammarly app, Ginger app, or the ProWriting Aid app for more help. ❤️
