WELCOME TO MY FIRST ANNUAL BOOK AWARDS PRESENTATION
I have been reviewing books for a couple of years now but never had the time or opportunity to do an annual awards post. 2016 has been filled with so much to be thankful for that I decided to recognize some of the books and authors whose writing made an impact on me, with the hopes that someone else will read these same books. It is a way that I can pay forward some of the enjoyment that I have received and recognize some outstanding Indy authors.
First, I must share that at the drafting of this post, I have read and reviewed a total of 63 books in 2016. That in itself is quite a feat! If you are looking for last minute Christmas Gifts, this is the place to SHOP!
Here’s how I chose the winners of my 2016 Annual Book Awards:
I selected the front-runners from my 5-star reviews. In my estimation, these are the books and authors who had the most impact on me. I do not say this lightly. Many of these authors have a way with words, and they have transported me to magical places. This is the true essence of why we write – not only to entertain but to be remembered in the hearts of our readers. Message received!

I have created an award photo for each of the categories. If you would like a copy of the image to use as a widget on your blog, feel free to copy or contact me, and I will email you a copy. Also, I have included the link to Amazon (where the books can be purchased) and also to my review so you can get an idea what the book is about. Click the author’s name to visit their blog.
Please check out the books and reviews. Your support means much to these authors.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the awards and the books!
See you next year! <3
A belated (on here but not on social media!), but truly heartfelt thanks for not only paying me such a great honor for my GENTEEL SECRETS, but for taking the time to do this for all of us authors! ❤️
You are so welcome, Sarah. Recognition by our peers given in a positive way is what we all should do to support our community. I loved Genteel Secrets and hope others will too. 😘❤
I so agree😀

I’ve been out of touch during the holidays while I recharged my batteries so I missed this. If you want some new books for the new year, here are some great recommendations. Happy New Year to you all. May 2017 be peaceful and prosperous.
Thank you so much, Colleen! I’ve been off the Internet merry-go-round for the holidays and so I missed this wonderful recognition! It means so much to me that you loved A Merry Mountain Christmas. It’s one of my favorites. I hope your holidays were lovely.
Thanks, Pat. A Merry Mountain Christmas was so deserving. I loved it. Happy New Year Blessings! ❤
Same to you. Here’s to a fantastic 2017 with plenty of healing.
Colleen, thank you so much for the award. I feel you deserve the biggest award for taking the time to review all our books and for all the advice and friendship shown to the writers and bloggers around the world. You are a wonderful lady and I wish you all the success in the launch of your book next year. Thank you. 💗
Thank you for your kind comments, Eloise. I love being part of our community of writers and bloggers. It is a great pleasure to pay back all the help I have received. Many hugs to you my friend. Happy New Year! <3

What a lovely idea Colleen, some well deserving authors to shout out about. Well done. 🙂
Thanks, Marje. It was time I recognized these authors. Great books and authors! ❤
Thanks so much, Colleen! How weird! I get notifications of your posts but didn’t get one for this one! You’re a star! And thanks so much for making my year end in an upbeat note!
You are so welcome, Olga. I think I tagged Just Olga, hoping you would see the link. I see the next books are out in your series. I will have to slip those in my TBR pile. Well deserved my friend! ❤
Thanks, Colleen. I don’t update Just Olga (it reshares automatically but use authortranslatorolga these days). Escaping Psychiatry is the first one I published, but the next book is out later this week. I know you have plenty to read but let me know if you fancy a copy of either.
Oh, darn. I’m sorry Olga for choosing the wrong blog. I’m just glad that you saw it all. Oh, yes. I would love to continue the series. Let me know when you would like a copy of The Heart Stone Chronicles. I’m still tinkering with CreateSpace and my paragraph spacing issues. LOL! <3
You mad some great choices. Merry Christmas.
Thanks, Linda. Merry Christmas. ❤

So exciting to read Colleen’s Review for Book Bites! Check out her blog for lots of great reading.
Some fabulous winners there Colleen 😉
Thanks, Judy. I have so many books to read yet. LOL! <3
Me too, I really need to get stuck in to some more of them! 🙂
And you work, too… I read at night before I go to sleep. No T.V. in the bedroom. I found the reading is much more satisfying. 😀
I always read before bed, even since I was a child. Now I find I am too tired, which is why I am so behind on my reading!! I need to sort it out!! 🙂
It’s hard working and taking care of a family. That “Me-Time,” is really important. You’ll get there. No worries. <3
Yes, it is pretty tricky, especially since I discovered blogging!! 🙂
Ha, Ha! I couldn’t agree more! 😀
Congrats to all of your winners, Colleen. Wishing you the best in 2017. Hugs.
Many hugs to you, Teagan. We are going to ROCK 2017! We got new books coming out. I wish you much luck this year. I won’t give up on getting you out West! 💖😉🌟
That is such a kind thing to say Colleen. I’ve been trying (or rather failing) at getting there for five years now. I begin to wonder if I *should* keep trying or find someplace else to look. (Staying here is not an affordable option when retirement comes.) But enough of those thoughts. 2016 is actually ending on some encouraging notes. 😀 Good things, even if small in the scheme of things.
Re the books, YES!!! <3 Congrats again on getting yours ready to charge out of the gates! I plan to book-ize another of my blog serials within the next few months. Merry mega hugs.
Yes! That is great news. I saw a couple more that I am excited to see you compile. Now, seriously… I think you would love Colorado Springs. It’s kind of wild and wonderful with sweeping prairies that lead up to Pike’s Peak and the mountains. The best summer in the world is found here and it is affordable. It is a place for you to consider. Besides, it would be nice to have you in a happier place. <3
I’ve never heard the first bad thing about Colorado Springs. My only objection is the snow! o_O But if I found a good job there, I would definitely go. I look all over the country, trying to be open… although there are a lot of places I would not go. I appreciate your encouragement. More hugs
You know last year we were bombed with snow. This year, we’ve gotten a total of 5 inches. Denver has gotten much more than we have. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed. <3
