Ciao, amici! How was your week? Mine was busier than usual.

I was wondering… what’s your opinion on self-care? I admit, I’ve been really bad about that, especially since I had kids. I’m the first one to want them to eat well, exercise, see a doctor if they’re sick or injured. That’s what mama bears do, right?

Well, yes, it is. But neglecting one’s self isn’t a great idea. It will eventually catch up to you. I’ve been learning that the hard way for several years now, but I try to muddle through anyway. This week, though, despite being incredibly busy, I had to take a day off. I got one of the worst migraines I ever had. 1. Oh my, the problems with losing vision in one eye! When I first read this I thought it said something about wanting to eat the kids like Mama bears do! Seemed so far fetched an idea, although I had been kinda tempted to try that when my kids were very young and always asking the age old question, “Why?” Finally I came up with my Mother’s Rule Book, a much easier solution than trying to eat one of the kids, and invented a new page, column and paragraph each time I heard the question. It worked so well my own daughter asked me one day if there really was such a book because her son had begun to ask the question. And all of this has nothing at all to do with this post, which is excellent, just my rambling on about some old memories.

    I love this! 🧡💙💜❤💖😇

      1. I try, she says while trying to come up with a witty remark before midnight! That’s usually when I think up the words I really want to use but can’t remember until almost asleep. And to think, I used to call it insomnia. 😩🤣🙌💖😇
