In honor of this event, I wrote a double Tanka to celebrate the power of women!

Goddesses Unite

Goddesses Unite!
Call out your superpowers.
Be invincible,
ignite your intuition,
brain power, and inner strength.

Stop the secrecy—
Speak, and have your voices heard.
Together we change
from victims of violence
into heroines of courage.

  1. Good job, Colleen! As you know, I’ve written several books about violence against women (and children and men)–not only domestic violence, but all types of sexual assault. This sounds like a great event.
So, here’s another tanka for you. 🙂

    Words can inspire,
dare others to dream of light,
    dismiss the shadows
    if you can, discover strength,
it is there inside you now

  2. Hi Colleen! Wow! Very inspiring and empowering double Tanka. I LOVED it! We also need better laws in place to help and protect victims of Domestic Violence. Too many times these victims have spoken out only to be brushed aside and that could only make their situation worse. Thanks for creating awareness, my friend. ❤ xx
