The Carrot Ranch Literary Community Flash Fiction Challenge for January 17, 2019, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story that includes colonnades. It can be natural, architectural, or a metaphor. Take a stroll and go where the prompt leads. Respond by January 22, 2019.
Tara laid the faery tarot cards carefully on the table. From between the colonnades of the Major and Minor Arcana, the universe cradled her in a divine hug. From the Major Arcana she drew the six – The Lovers, the five – Unity, and from the Minor Arcana, the Six of Summer.
Past, present, and future. Her past spoke of true love,
while the present, reminded her to remain true to her principles. Yet, the future
hinted at her becoming fast friends.
The cards spoke the truth. What did she have to lose? She tore up the divorce papers and smiled.

Colleen, you led me to a colonnade I had forgotten about! The cards reveal wisdom, and I enjoyed the twist.
It was such a great reading. I had to use it! LOL! ❤️

Ron and I are coming up on our 34th anniversary. The reading definitely shared our evolution. <3
Happy anniversary to a wise and loving couple! <3
Awww, you’re so sweet, Charli. ❤️❤️❤️
This is such a remove approach, Colleen.
I had done a reading on Monday and wondered how I could use these great cards. The flash was perfect timing. 😀 Glad you enjoyed. <3
I don’t know where remove came from. I meant unique.
LOL! My computer/phone/laptop has its own personality. I have to watch what they type on occasion. 😀
Cool story. My deck doesn’t quite have the same suits as yours, but I loved the tale.
LOL! My Faery cards are so fun. When these three popped up I knew they were meant for a story!
So good, Colleen! ❤️
Great flash Sis. I think the subject was right up your alley! <3
LOL! It was an attempt to use a great card read reading in a flash. 🥰
A mighty fine one at that! <3
Thanks, Sis ❤️
Ooh… Tara and her tarot cards! Cool
LOL! That was my draw for the day. I thought it was kind of cool to make a story out of it. 😀
Excellent use of the prompt, and delightful story. Thanks for the heads up on the prompt too…
You’re welcome. Flash fiction is what helped me to become a better writer. It’s a marvelous community! <3
I enjoy flash very much. I am always up for a challenge so it’s nice to find new one. Thanks Colleen.
You’re always, welcome, Violet. <3
