Welcome to Word Craft ~ Prose and Poetry. If you love poetry, writing, and flash fiction, you’ve found a second home. I’m glad you’re here. Namaste & Blessed Be!
Do you believe in faeries? Take the test to discover what faery clan you belong to. Click Here to see what type of fairy you are.
Fairies are mythical beings often found in folklore and romantic legends. I’m interested in Faerycraft which is a belief that the lives of witches and fairies are intertwined. Faery Witchcraft is a way to bring the old Faery Faith ways and beliefs forward into a modern neopagan context. The Faery Faith is a belief system that transforms religion. It can be followed within any religion; however, it is uniquely suited to combining with paganism. As a Buddhist, these beliefs work for me.
This isn’t about only honoring the good neighbors. It’s also a way to connect to them and to the Otherworld on a deeper level. Fairy Witchcraft weaves together many threads: the Irish Faery Faith, neopagan witchcraft, Druidism, Celtic Reconstructionism, Germanic folk beliefs, and Heathenry.
You will find most of my poetry and stories center on this belief system. I hope you will enjoy my exploration into the mystical and unusual.
Of course, not everything I write contains this pagan edge. I love all forms of fantasy, science fiction, mysteries, and crime novels. I LOVE to read. Check out my weekly book reviews. I think there is something there for everyone.
I sponsor a weekly Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge where you can write Tanka, Haiku, Haiga, Haibun, Senryu, and Cinquain, Etheree, Nonet, and Shadorma poetry. Syllabic poetry is my thing. It’s all about the brevity of words and how powerful they become in these abbreviated forms. Join in! Everyone is welcome.

BIO as of 1/1/2020:
Colleen M. Chesebro is an American Novelist & Poet who loves writing paranormal fantasy and magical realism, cross-genre fiction, syllabic poetry, and creative nonfiction. She loves all things magical, which may mean that she is experiencing her second childhood—or not. That part of her life hasn’t been decided yet.
A few years ago, a mystical experience led her to renew her passion for writing poetry and storytelling. Colleen sponsors a Syllabic Poetry Challenge on her blog where participants can learn how to write Haiku, Senryu, Haiga, Tanka, Haibun, Cinquain, Nonet, and Shadorma poetry.
Colleen won the “Little and Laugh” Flash Fiction Contest sponsored by the Carrot Ranch Literary Community in November 2017. In 2018, she won first place for the “Twisted Travel” category. In 2019, she placed second for the Three Act Story category, with her piece called “The Game.”
Colleen lives in Arizona with her husband. When she is not writing, she is reading. She also loves gardening and crocheting old-fashioned doilies into works of art.
My writing Muses, Sugar & Spice, have crossed over the rainbow bridge, but they are always with me. I miss them both.
